The afternoon
Steam's Cheltenham lunch. A City tradition, back for another year.
The Cheltenham Festival lunch has been one of Steam's signature events for years. Tuesday of Festival week, Champion Hurdle day, the entire venue tuned in across eight HD screens, a proper three course lunch, and a racing specialist at the head of the table running the afternoon.
The 2026 event sold out in February, which is earlier than any previous year. Mick Fitzgerald, the Grand National winning jockey and lead ITV Racing commentator, was on hand to walk the room through the afternoon's card, explain the significance of what we were watching, and take questions from guests between races.
We are running a waitlist for this one because historically we have been able to release a small number of returns in the week before. If you want your name on that list, use the form below. And if you want to make sure you are in the room for 2027, book as soon as we announce the date.
